Piercing Healing Times Overview

Please note: It is recommended to change jewelry only after the minimum healing time.

It is crucial to take good care of your piercing until it is fully healed. Follow at least the minimum healing time stated, but be prepared to continue care until the piercing is fully healed. Every body is unique, so healing may vary.

Piercings in the face, mouth, and ears:

- Cartilage (ear): healing time of 3 to 9 months, smaller jewelry recommended after at least 3 months if the swelling has subsided and it does not look inflamed.

- Earlobe: healing time of 2 to 3 months, stretching only after 4 to 6 months.

- Eyebrow: healing time of 2 to 4 months, shorter jewelry recommended after 2 months.

- Nose: healing time of 2 to 4 months, shorter bar recommended after 2 months, inserting a ring is recommended after 3 to 4 months or longer when the swelling is completely gone.

- Septum: healing time of 2 to 3 months, smaller jewelry possible after 2 months.

- Tongue: healing time of 2 months.

- Smiley: healing time of 2 months.

- Lip: healing time of 2 to 6 months, inserting a ring is only recommended after at least 4 to 6 months.

Piercings in the nipple and navel:

- Nipple: healing time of 3 to 9 months, shorter bar recommended after 3 months.

- Navel: healing time of 6 to 9 months.

Genital piercings:

- Prince Albert: healing time of 2 to 4 months, stretching recommended after 4 to 6 months.

- Frenum: healing time of 2 to 3 months.

- Guiche: healing time of 2 to 4 months.

- Clithood: healing time of 2 to 3 months.

- Labia: healing time of 2 to 4 months.

- Christina: healing time of about 4 to 6 months.

Other piercings:

- Dermal anchor and surface bars: healing time of 2 to 4 months.
